Twiggy Tallant to make ‘hometown’ appearance at Motorama

The past two editions of the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo Presented by Mothers featured celebrity guest appearances by members of the popular TV show Vegas Rat Rods.

In 2016, WelderUp shop owner and visionary Steve Darnell appeared at Motorama. And last year, Darnell returned to Motorama with his cousin / Vegas Rat Rods co-star ‘Barber’ Dave Lefler.

Keeping that streak alive, Twiggy Tallant will be appearing at Motorama on Saturday, March 10 and Sunday, March 11. Tallant, who lives in Toronto, made her television debut working for Welderup on Vegas Rat Rods for the series’ first two seasons. She’ll be signing autographs for – and posing for pictures with – Motorama showgoers. She’ll also participate in on-stage panel discussions and awards presentations.

The Toronto Motorama show takes place March 9, 10 & 11 at The International Centre, across from Pearson International Airport. It’s Canada’s biggest indoor automotive and motorsports show.

As fans of Vegas Rat Rods will know, the Discovery Channel show spotlights the incredible custom-built rat rod creations designed by Darnell and fabricated by him and his staff at the WelderUp shop, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Tallant was a prominent regular on the show for two seasons, before returning to live in Canada’s biggest city.

Since returning to her hometown, Twiggy has continued to pursue her passion for automobiles, primarily through welding and metal fabrication. To that end, she’s currently getting her welding ‘ticket’ at George Brown College.

Twiggy also aspires to be a driving force in the promotion of women in trades. She’s planning to launch her brand ‘Hair Up, Hustle Hard,’ as a community for women in the trades and for girls hoping to pursue a career in them. This initiative will also include speaking to high school students around Toronto.

“I’ve been fortunate to have the opportunity to make appearances at a lot of car shows around Canada and the US, but I’ve never done ‘the big show’ in my own hometown,” said Twiggy. “So I’m really excited about coming to Motorama and meeting people who love cars and who maybe saw me during my time on Vegas Rat Rods. I have a neat new poster that we’re going to unveil at Motorama. One last thing… if I give you a hug at the show, don’t be scared… I’m just Canadian.”
