The second annual Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo Presented by Mothers kicked off Friday at The International Centre with a large contingent of students and automotive enthusiasts taking in the 300,000 square foot show and all of the incredible vehicles, displays, booths, on-stage discussions and celebrity autograph sessions.
There are almost 400 examples of automotive excellence on display, the show featuring everything from former film and television creations, to the cleanest and most exotic Hot Rod, Classic and Custom Cars, from Rat Rods and Street Tuners to an incredible assortment of vehicles prepared and ready for the province’s race tracks.
As well as these mechanical marvels, visitors to this year’s Motorama will enjoy the privilege of meeting and greeting the people who have either build, or raced, these vehicles.
Steve Darnell from Welderup/ Vegas Rat Rods, along with Jimmy Shine (Car Warriors) and his friend and fellow custom car nut Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top, will be in attendance, as will drag racer / builder Jeff Lutz (Street Outlaws / Drag Week) and legendary, award winning builder Gene Winfield.
For the racing fans, how much bigger a legend could you hope to see than one of the original members of the Alabama Gang, Bobby Allison? Sunday will be Allison’s day to shine as he shares the Johnsonville Stage and the NASCAR display with a collection of the current driver roster from the NASCAR Pinty’s Series.
The younger visitors to the Motorama show have not been forgotten either, as Trevor Tordjman and Brittany Raymond from Family Channel’s The Next Step will be on hand, on Sunday, to meet their fans too!
And when your feet are demanding relief, why not take a load off and grab a chair in front of the Johnsonville Stage?
This cornerstone of the Motorama show will host panel discussions on topics ranging from road, drag and stock car racing, the ever-popular Young Guns, Automotive Education and Career Path discussions and the not-to-be-missed Media Panel.
The Johnsonville Stage will also the base for the car award presentations and the Drag Racing and Short Track Night of Champions presented by Stoneridge Insurance, a Saturday night gala celebrating the best of Canadian racing talent.
And whether you’re in the market for a new fire suit, a new helmet, a new car or just automotive collectibles and memorabilia, the Motorama show will offer a huge variety of vendors located throughout the show floor and into the Karbelt KARS expo.
