UXBRIDGE, ON – The Autofest Nationals brought thousands of visitors back to Uxbridge, Ontario’s Elgin Park last weekend (August 23 – 24) as the long-running car show marked its second year in ‘Canada’s Trail Capital’ set against the Oak Ridges Moraine, northeast of Toronto. The event attracted more than 1,400 vehicles, including classic cars, muscle cars, hot rods, custom cars, trucks and more. The show was hosted by the Motor City Car Club with all proceeds benefitting Grandview Kids and the Uxbridge Hospital Foundation.
Encouraged by great weather, crowds filled the park both days, walking through rows of original classics, restored antiques and custom builds. Families and car clubs came from across Ontario, with some participants travelling from out of province and the United States.
Along with the vehicles on display, the weekend featured food trucks, vendors, live music, a silent auction and a children’s zone. Awards were presented Sunday afternoon, with crowd favourites recognized alongside class winners.
Organizers said the move to Uxbridge (it had formerly taken place in Oshawa, since the show’s inception in 1993) has been well-received, noting that the park offered more space and a scenic setting for the event.
