BASF CANADA TO PRESENT AN INCREDIBLE ASSORTMENT OF VEHICLES AT MOTORAMA

When car manufacturers like GM, Ford, Bentley, Rolls Royce, Porsche, Mercedes, approve BASF paints be used on their new vehicles, it comes as no surprise that the same paints and finishes would be the products of choice on the creations of custom car pros such as Chip Foose, Ringbrothers, KC’s Paint Shop, Goolsby Customs as well as by serious, amateur hobbyists.

To illustrate the quality of their products, BASF Canada will once again have a significant presence at the upcoming Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo presented by eBay Motors. The show takes place April 29, 30 & May 1 at Toronto’s International Centre. At Motorama, BASF will present a spectacular display of vehicles, all of which have been finished with Glasurit and R-M, brands BASF. Some recently, and others, more than two decades ago.

Peter Klutt and his Legendary Motorcar Company operation will share two of their spectacular vehicles with Motorama Show visitors. Peter’s personal 2022 Ford GT (below) features a special, one-of-a-kind edition paint scheme, while a 1969 Camaro SS – a project completed with premiere Glasurit paint 22 years ago – will demonstrate the quality, performance and durability of Glasurit finishes.

Another Detroit muscle car, this one a 1967 Dodge Dart GT with a 440 Big Block lurking beneath its hood, will be making its car show debut at Motorama. The vehicle – owned by Mike Emerson – was painted using BASF products in 2015. A pair of incredible German models, presented courtesy of the Pfaff-Lithia Automotive group, will complete the amazing BASF display at Motorama. Jeff Pabst, the Head of Collision repair at Pfaff Autoworks, owns a 1983 Audi Quattro race car. His automotive pride has been fully restored and ultimately finished with BASF’s premiere paint line, Glasurit.

The other German head turner will be a 2019 Porsche 935; this car’s unique bodywork made entirely from carbon fibre. The vehicle is the only car of its kind in Canada and will be at Motorama courtesy of the Pfaff/ Lithia Automotive Group.

Said Brian Busby, Account Manager for BASF Canada, “These cars will give Motorama showgoers – as well as current and potential customers of BASF – a great variety of paints and vehicles to enjoy. They’ll be able to view our coatings and how they perform, from the most recent applications to those from the past.”

Catering to automotive painters/shop owners/managers who will be attending Motorama, BASF Canada, R-M and Glasurit representatives and technicians will be promoting and explaining the new-to-North America, ‘Glasurit 100’ line of finishes. These products are recognized as the fastest base coat in the world and are setting new standards with the lowest VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) compliant products in the industry. Focusing on a new standard of sustainability, process efficiency and highest product quality, the new Glasurit 100 line meets the most demanding requirements of modern body shops and automotive refinishers.

In keeping with, and taking advantage of, their unequalled knowledge of vehicle preparation and painting, BASF Canada will once again sponsor the ‘Best Paint Awards’ at Motorama during the Special Awards presentations on the main stage, on Sunday, May 1.

“We’re honoured to have the privilege to present the Best Paint awards at shows such as Motorama and the Detroit Autorama (where BASF sponsors the Ridler Award),” continued Busby. “We are the leaders in the industry with our premiere line of products. Aligning ourselves with Canada’s largest indoor custom car show, we feel, is mutually beneficial.”

Busby concluded, “We’ve missed being at Motorama due to the pandemic lockdown and we’re very excited to be back, as are our 100 VIP guests who will be attending the show. We’re excited to be able to introduce our new Glasurit 100 line, we’re thrilled to be able to reconnect with our customers, and we’re so happy that we have the opportunity to just ‘talk cars’ with the Motorama show visitors.”
