From Targa Newfoundland
The third day of the Targa Newfoundland car rally, on Monday, September 15, will take teams to several communities along scenic Notre Dame Bay. Community volunteers and Targa officials will close sections of road to vehicles and pedestrian traffic for approximately 1.5 to 2 hours to run the Targa Newfoundland stages. The maps below indicate, in black, which roads will be closed.
Monday, September 15 – Leg 3, Notre Dame Bay
Monday’s first stage is in the streets of the former logging community of Glenwood on the Gander River, then teams will proceed to stages in the communities of Bobby’s Cove, Pleasantview, Point Leamington, and Leading Tickles. In the afternoon, stages take place in Leading Tickles and Glover’s Harbour. Note: due to road work in the Town of Appleton, Targa will not run there this year.

Keeping spectators, competitors, and volunteers safe is our top priority.
Spectators must follow instructions from Safety Marshals in yellow or orange Targa vests. Stand only behind the yellow taped areas. Supervise children closely and control pets. Do not park vehicles near the Targa route (15 metres). Do not cross the road during the event.
Be a smart spectator. Think safety! Stand at least 15 metres from the road. Never stand on the outside of a turn. Choose high ground. Never stand behind red tape. Always stand, do not sit down to watch and remind others to do the same.
