Fast Eddie Racewear Night of Champions set for Saturday, April 30

One of the most popular features of the Toronto Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo Presented by eBay Motors is the Fast Eddie Night of Champions.

Prior to the pandemic, upwards of 125 short track and drag racers who won season-long points championships – the summer before at their local track or in the touring series they participated in – were on hand to be honoured during the Night of Champions.

On Saturday, April 30, the Fast Eddie Night of Champions is returning to Motorama. Eligible champions from the 2020 and 2021 seasons can sign up to be celebrated on the Motorama Stage, in Hall 2. New for this year’s Night of Champions – and for the first time in the history of the event – Canadian road racing champions will also be included in the ceremonies.

The road racing, drag racing and short track (dirt and asphalt) presentations will all take place on the main Motorama Stage starting late in the afternoon on April 30. Each ceremony will have its own hosts. The exact schedule will be published in the coming weeks.

“We’re all looking forward to the return of the Fast Eddie Night of Champions at Motorama,” said co-promoter Greg MacPherson. “Nowhere else in the world – that we’re aware of – do so many current racing champions and their supporters and fans get together in one place, at one time.

“For the racers and their crews and families, it’s the cherry on top of the accomplishments they worked so hard to achieve the summer before. The pandemic hit in the middle of the Motorama 2020 show, so we haven’t been able to hold the Fast Eddie Night of Champions presentations since 2019. We’re all excited about working with our friends at Fast Eddie to bring back this important and entertaining feature of the show.”

Canadian racers who won season-long road racing, drag racing or short track championships in 2020 and/or 2021 are eligible to register and participate. They can do this by going to and clicking on the Fast Eddie Night of Champions rotator on the homepage and signing up by the end of day on Thursday, March 31.

Registered champions who attend the show will receive a customized plaque, a commemorative T-Shirt from Fast Eddie Racewear and other prizes. They’ll also receive two free tickets to Motorama, a one-year subscription to Inside Track Motorsport News and a discount offer to display their 2022 race car in the Racers’ Corral, at the show.

In addition to sponsoring the Night of Champions, Fast Eddie Racewear will also be back as a prominent exhibitor at Motorama – in their traditional location in the southwest corner of Hall 2 – offering a wide array of automotive and racing products for fans and competitors.

“We will have 70 feet of all the cool things we do,” noted Fast Eddie’s Jamie Hakonson. “We’ll have race gear like crew shirts, custom hats and t-shirts for teams and tracks. We’ll also have helmets and firesuits for racers, and an expanded line of our own Fast Eddie brand of Speedwear for the gearhead enthusiast. Motorama draws a great mix of racers, enthusiasts, track and event operators, which makes it a great fit for us.”
