The Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo presented by eBay Motors is proud to welcome The Chassis Stop as the Featured Builder at this year’s show. Located in Mississauga, ON, The Chassis Stop designs and builds a variety of vehicles, with a focus on pro mod, pro stock, super stock and all types of drag racing cars. Shop owner Ronnie Fortune built his first street race car in the early 1980s; he moved to Canada and studied computer technology in 1987 but decided that his passion was for building cars and never looked back.
Fortune is no stranger to Motorama, winning numerous Best Engineered awards, several Best Paint honours and a Best Orphan award at the show. He’s a three-time Valvoline Canadian 10 finalist for the Grand Champion Award and most recently had a pair of Fiats on display in 2025.
Of the vehicles he’s brought to Motorama, a 1967 Mustang Fastback Custom stands out for the complexity of the engineering, while a Pro Touring 1969 Chevy Nova stands out for the engineering to allow the car to drive at a low ride height, which made it a challenging build.
“Every job in the shop is exciting, but the ones with the most challenges are the ones that get me most excited,” said Fortune.
Other examples of vehicles he’s displayed at Motorama include a 2017 C7 Corvette 10.5 race car, 1959 Autobianchi, 1970 Pro Touring Camaro and 1969 Pro Mod Camaro. He’ll be bringing a 1957 BMW Isetta Cabriolet to this year’s show.
“It’s one of the most unique little projects I’ve ever put my hands on,” Fortune said of the BMW. “Powered by a 1300CC Hayabusa motorcycle engine, it’s been widened 5 inches, it’s been lowered 6 inches, and it has a custom-built chassis. It’s been a challenging build because of its minute size. It’s a one-of-a-kind must see!”
Fortune is looking forward to getting together with a community of new and returning people at Motorama; he says that it’s exciting to see so many car lovers in one place, while having the opportunity to show the craftsmanship of his projects. The designation of Featured Builder is also not lost on him.
“It’s an honour and a privilege to be this year’s Featured Builder,” said Fortune. “It’s nice to be recognized for all the sweat we’ve been putting into all these custom/race cars at Motorama for over 20 years.”

One year it’s an immaculate drag car, the next year it’s a beautiful ’67 Mustang Fastback Custom, and the next year he brings two gorgeous Fiats that fit into a single 20’ x 20’ spot in Hall 1. He’s been an incredible supporter of the show and we all appreciate it. We’re excited to honour and spotlight Ronnie Fortune and The Chassis Stop by having them serve as this year’s Featured Builder at Motorama.”
