The Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo is the latest incarnation in a long line of Toronto-based hot rod and custom car shows, a lineage that stretches well back into the early 1970s. As Bob McJannett so eloquently stated in his Performance Improvements Performance in Motion magazine, this annual spring exposition is simply “the car show that wouldn’t die.”
Maintaining that train of thought, for the 2015 Motorama show, there will be a featured presentation entitled the ‘Graveyard Car’ segment, featuring five former participants representing the Speed Sport, Speedorama, and Performance World eras.
With the cover of the Performance in Motion magazine enlarged and used as a backdrop, the five vehicles will offer a historical retrospective of the car shows, with each car identified, and its achievements recognized, by a personalized grave marker.
As the Motorama Custom Car show has risen from the ashes of its predecessors, so have the Graveyard Car show entrants, and, as in the past, each will be rated by a panel of judges to determine which example has best withstood the tests of time.
