Motorama Returns!

NOTE: DATES UPDATED ON JANUARY 20, 2022

Following a one-year hiatus, the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo will return to Toronto’s International Centre April 29, 30 & May 1, 2022! Motorama will fill more than 300,000 square feet with incredible custom cars, hot rods, racing vehicles of all kinds, classics, tuners, car clubs, builders, parts, collectibles vendors, and more.

“The 2020 show was cut short by the outbreak of the pandemic, and it’s been a very long ‘two weeks to flatten the curve,’” said the show’s promoters. “The 2021 show wasn’t permitted, and until recently, we were nervous about being able to put on the 2022 show. But the high vaccination rates, and declining case counts and hospitalization figures in Ontario caused the province to significantly increase capacity figures in convention centres.

“In the wake of the province announcing that shows like ours can now take place with 100% attendance capacity, we’re excited to begin work on producing Motorama 2022. The response, so far, has been incredible. Everyone has been very supportive and wants to get back to normal and safely doing the things we all love. We look forward to hosting the car and racing communities April 29, 30 & May 1, 2022 at The International Centre.”

Showgoers, exhibitors and sponsors can expect to see things pick up pretty much where they left off when the show was forced to close on March 14, 2020, albeit with some safety measures in place. As of now, the province is mandating that showgoers wear masks and provide proof of vaccination in order to attend consumer and trade shows. Motorama will monitor and follow the guidelines, as proscribed by the province and its health officials, up until and through showtime.

The reaction to the return of Motorama has been very positive. Car Co-Ordinator Gary Challice reports that many builders were busy during the pandemic – working on incredible creations – and they’re eager to show them off. As well, many of the province’s car clubs are anxious to return to Motorama, which has been the traditional car show season kick-off, for five decades.

Turning to the motorsports component of the show, the Ontario racing industry bounced back to life with 75% capacity crowds permitted during the second half of the 2021 season. Riding high on this return to normalcy, Motorama’s Inside Track Racing Zone will once again play host to tracks, series and manufacturers who are looking to connect with tens of thousands of fans and competitors making plans for the upcoming season.

The popular Mayhem… in the Backroom feature room will return for a third time, playing homage to traditional hot rods and custom cars, as well as the rockabilly lifestyle. Presented by ZEHR Insurance Brokers and under the guidance of Brandon Roberts – one of the promoters of the popular Jalopy Jam-Up – Mayhem’s vehicle line-up will include offerings from several car clubs and car owners.

As well, the sixth edition of Spring Fever: Modified Cars & Lifestyle will again be put together by Kristine Hill, producer of the annual Summer Showdown in Simcoe, Ontario. Passionate about modified and tuner cars and the people who embrace the lifestyle, Hill is looking forward to the return of Spring Fever.

Exhibitors and sponsors from the 2020 Motorama show are currently being offered an opportunity to renew their booth spaces and properties, until the end of October. At that point, the floorplan and sponsorships will be made available to all on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Parties interested in being part of Motorama should email the promoters at info@MotoramaShow.com or call (416) 962-7223. Car owners and clubs are encouraged to submit vehicle application forms at MotoramaShow.com.
