Stoneridge Specialty Insurance presents the Inside Track Racing Zone at Motorama

Motorsports has always been a huge part of the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo. And this year, for the sixth edition of Canada’s biggest indoor automotive enthusiast and racing show, Canadian motorsports will have an even higher profile, in the Inside Track Racing Zone, presented by Stoneridge Specialty Insurance.

The show takes place March 13, 14 & 15 at The International Centre, across from Toronto’s Pearson International Airport.

Just beyond Hall 1 and the 28 mostly first time-shown custom cars and hot rods, show visitors will enter the Racing Zone at Motorama. The hall is packed with displays and exhibits that are sure to get motorsports racing enthusiasts excited about the upcoming racing season.

The majority of Ontario’s asphalt and dirt oval tracks will have a presence, along with sanctioning bodies and promoters representing stock car racing, drag racing, road racing, karting. All of them will be there distributing their 2020 racing schedules and will have staff on hand to discuss their news, rules and big events.

And peppered throughout the Racing Zone will be almost three dozen immaculately prepared racing machines, making up the Racers’ Corral. These vehicles will include dirt and oval short track cars, dragsters, road racing cars and more.

New for 2020, in the Racing Zone, is the Stoneridge Stage. Located in the heart of the hall, it will feature planned and spontaneous interviews with racers, promoters and newsmakers. It will also play host to the racing-related car awards, which are usually distributed on the main Pinty’s Stage, in Hall 2.

Another new addition to the Racing Zone, this year, will be a Mini Stock car build that will take place near the top of the hall, on the north wall, throughout the show. Spearheaded by Rich Schwartzenburg and a team of experienced enthusiasts, the goal of the demonstration is to get young people engaged in building and working on race cars.

Once complete, the vehicle will be a ‘house car’ at Flamboro Speedway, dedicated to encouraging newcomers to get involved in the sport.

Moving into the Racing Zone will be a long-time, popular feature at Motorama, Yesterday’s Speedways. In previous years, it was located along the south wall in Hall 2, but the promoters felt it would be more appropriate to have it located in with most of the show’s racing content.

Organized by Rick Sharples and his team of dedicated stock car historians and enthusiasts, this year’s Yesterday’s Speedways feature is being presented by OMRS – Five-Zero Racing. The focus will be a tribute to the recently deceased Tom Cuzzilla Sr., who raced at Pinecrest, the CNE, Sunset, Flamboro and many other tracks in the region. According to a report after his passing, Cuzzilla won 121 feature races and four championships during his career.

The Inside Track Racing Zone, presented by Stoneridge Specialty Insurance will also include many of the racing industry’s top equipment and apparel suppliers, several of whom are offering aggressive pre-season sales in addition to their product expertise.

“Stoneridge Specialty Insurance was launched the weekend of our first Motorama show, six years ago,” said co-promoter David Weber. “They are an integral member of the racing community, and have relationships with many of the tracks, series and sanctioning bodies in the Racing Zone. It’s a perfect fit to have them present the entire Racing Zone and we’re excited about the new elements we’ve added to this part of the show.”
