The Road Reapers Car Club will be honoured as the Featured Club at the upcoming Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo presented by eBay Motors. Founded in 2020, the Toronto-based group features hot rods, classics and custom cars from pre-1960. Their origins date back to here at the Motorama show, where club president Cesare Manco and vice-president Shaun Ocovich first met in 2019.
The Road Reapers gather regularly at breakfast places and coffee shops in Toronto and nearby Woodbridge to support the local businesses, while they also like to hold regular cruise events to showcase their vehicles to the general public.
“That’s our main thing; we try and get together, even if it’s once a month, try and get the boys together and cruise with the cars,” said Manco. “They’re meant to be driven; that’s what we’re known for. They were calling us ‘Rolling with the Reapers’ as a nickname, as a hashtag, because we’re always on the road, we’re always cruising.”
From city streets to expressways, store parking lots to classic backdrops, the club’s cruise events have taken them to a variety of places. One such notable location is in the heart of Toronto’s mid-town, where they hold an annual event called Dream Wheels on Eglinton (image below), in partnership with their lifestyle brand Toronto Hot Rod Kulture.
Dream Wheels closes one of the city’s main arteries on a summer Saturday in late July for a day filled with activities and classic cars. The event supports the SickKids Foundation, carrying on a tradition that started with their Cars & Caffeine shows.
With Motorama providing another opportunity to showcase their prized possessions to the mass public, these events help the Road Reapers pass on their love of classic cars to the next generation.
“The main focus was putting on a show for people to see these cars in particular,” said Manco. “We wanted for people to come out and see these cars at car shows, who may one day be like, ‘I want this type of car now.’ That’s how I got started, when I was around 20-years-old, was going to a car show and seeing a particular car and being like, ‘you know what, I like this type of car.’ These type of shows are needed for kids coming up who want to get into the scene.”
As the Featured Club, the Road Reapers will have a large presence in the Zehr Insurance Mayhem… in the Backroom, in Hall 3, with a dozen vehicles on display spanning nearly three decades.
The Road Reapers’ vehicles that showgoers will see are a 1927 Ford Model T, 1927 Essex Hotrod, 1930 Ford Model A sedan, 1931 Ford Model A coupe, 1932 Ford (T-Bird Deuce) Roadster Model B, 1932 Ford Roadster Deuce five-window, a pair of 1932 Ford Roadsters, a 1934 Ford four-door sedan, 1936 Ford five-window coupe, 1949 Ford Shoebox Kustom and a 1954 Packard.
Manco says that the Mayhem Room is the perfect place for the Road Reapers to set up, as the cars fit right in with the music, pin-up girls and the whole vintage vibe from that era. He’s been a supporter of the ‘show-within-a-show’ from a young age and is looking forward to having the Road Reapers be the Featured Club at Motorama 2026.
“No words can be given – we’re just very thankful to be chosen and being recognized as a club by Motorama, seeing what we’re doing for the community, it puts smiles on our faces,” said Manco. “For the three days, we hang out there all day. Talking to everybody, meeting new people; people ask us questions about the cars and we love that… it’s just an awesome feeling, making friends and stuff like that.”
