At last year’s edition of the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo presented by eBay Motors, The Rust Bros made a huge impression. It all started with a well-documented cross-Canada drive through several days of blizzard conditions in a 1968 Chevelle. And the level of chaos associated with their trip to the Toronto Motorama show only increased from there.
Show organizers are excited to announce that Mike Hall and Avery Shoaf – The Rust Bros from TV’s Rust Valley Restorers – are returning to Motorama for all three days of this year’s special 10th anniversary show, which runs March 7, 8 & 9 at The International Centre, across from Toronto’s Pearson Airport.
Based in Tappen, British Columbia, The Rust Bros have gained a worldwide following for their entertaining and creative take on life, and their work rebuilding and restoring classic cars. Their Rust Bros (Official) YouTube channel is updated daily with car builds, road trips, behind-the-scenes action at the shop and lots of laughs. ‘Wildman’ Avery Shoaf also has his own Wildman Garage YouTube channel, where he streams his own car antics, epic builds, and wild adventures.
Mike Hall, the Rust Bros’ experienced pro, brings decades of expertise and a sharp eye for restoration to all his projects. His deep understanding of classic cars and a strong commitment to perfection make him the key driver behind many of the group’s bold builds. And while he enjoys finding new cars, his reluctance to part with long ignored vehicles already in his possession is a regular topic of discussion.
Avery Shoaf, the team’s talented artist and fabricator, adds a distinct creative touch to every restoration. From custom paint jobs to complex metalwork, Avery’s meticulous attention to detail and imaginative vision push The Rust Bros’ creations to new levels. And beyond his automotive talents, his infectious laugh is a favourite with fans of the show.
The non-stop banter – between Mike, Avery and their friends and other members of the crew – keeps their viewers engaged and entertained.
Announcing their return to the Toronto Motorama show, Rust Bro Mike Hall said, “We’re excited to announce that we’re going back to the Motorama show, in Toronto. I don’t know why, but for some unknown reason, they’ve invited us back! It’s the tenth anniversary of Motorama and the 50th anniversary of them having car shows in the same place on the same weekend.”
Fellow Rust Bro Avery ‘Wildman’ Shoaf chimed in, “We’ll be there all three days – March 7th, 8th and 9th – signing autographs, taking selfies, selling swag, looking at cars, meeting up with old friends and making some new ones.”
In the days leading up to the Rust Bros’ appearance at last year’s Motorama show, they drove a 1968 Chevelle through a 72-hour blizzard on their way from BC to Toronto. Talking about their travel plans for this year’s trek to Motorama, Mike Hall says it’s still ‘to be determined.’
“We had such a great time getting there last year… but this year, we might take the train. We’re not sure yet, but we’ll see what the weather does. But we’re going to be there no matter what. We look forward to seeing everyone again on March 7, 8 and 9 at Motorama.”
Speaking about the Rust Bros’ return appearance, show co-promoter David Weber said, “In the years we’ve been doing the show, we’ve never had a reaction to an appearance like we had with them last year. We heard from many showgoers that they either didn’t get a chance to meet them last March, or they really wanted to see and hear them again this year. So, we went all in on Rust Bros 2.0 as part of our 10th anniversary celebrations. The guys are a lot of fun, and you never know what they’re going to say or do. We’re excited to have them back again.”
