TORONTO, ON – Following a year-long public nomination process leading up to the July 31 submission deadline, the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame (CMHF) is pleased to announce the members of its Class of 2024. They will be inducted during the Hall’s annual Gala Induction Ceremony, next February, in Toronto. In all, ten individuals, one drag racing team, a pair of brothers who have owned and promoted a stock car track for over 50 years, and a member of the motorsports media have been identified for membership in Canada’s racing hall of fame.
More than 50 new nominations were submitted by the public during the year. Add in another three dozen that were held over for further consideration from 2023, and a total of eighty-six nominations – representing individuals and organizations from across the racing spectrum – were eligible for consideration.
Following the July 31 deadline, the CMHF Independent Selection Committee began the process of reviewing and scoring the nominations. After that process was complete, the Committee put forward its recommendations to the Board of Directors. On Monday, November 18, the Board approved the motion to induct the new members.

Commenting on the nomination and selection process, CMHF Chair Peter Lockhart said, “On behalf of the Board, we’re very excited to announce the members of the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame’s Class of 2024. Once again, the nominations were excellent, and the process produced a very worthy group of individuals and teams. Congratulations to those who will be inducted, as well as those who were nominated. I would also like to recognize and thank the members of the Independent Selection Committee – headed by the Hall’s Chair Emeritus Dr. Hugh Scully – for their efforts reviewing and scoring the nominations. It was a lot of work, and it produced a list of new members that we are proud to recognize and celebrate.”
Immediately after the Board approved the Class of 2024, Lockhart began the process of personally contacting the inductees and those who nominated them. “It’s an honour to speak with the inductees to inform them of the news. On behalf of the Board, we celebrate their contributions to Canadian motorsports and look forward to formally inducting them – in front of their families and supporters – next February in Toronto.”
The CMHF Induction Gala is co-sponsored by Clubine Motorsports, Martella Motorsports, MW Generational Wealth and JMF Motorsports, and will take place during the Canadian International Autoshow (CIAS), on Saturday, February 15, 2025, in Toronto. The CMHF was officially opened in 1993 and began inducting honourable members in that year.
