The tuner, import and modern modified car hobby will come together for a ninth time at the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo presented by eBay Motors, with the popular Spring Fever presented by DriveWise returning to Hall 2.
Spring Fever will feature over 50 vehicles from this creative and unique genre, which has become known for personalization. Tuners, imports and modern modifieds include cars that are customized for everything from common changes, such as rim and exhaust switches, to more extreme changes, such as carbon fibre overlays and air-ride suspensions.
More than half of the vehicles displayed in Spring Fever will be ‘first time shown.’ There won’t be a featured display this year, to make room for more entries, but there will be a variety of makes and models in this show-within-a-show, such as a 1996 Honda Civic, 2010 Dodge Challenger, 1971 Datsun 240z, 2008 Honda Civic, and 1986 Volkswagen Golf.
Everyone is encouraged to take their time in Spring Fever, as each vehicle is unique, with no shortage of details. Whether you’re a new or returning guest, there will be another fresh line-up of vehicles to discover.
“I’m looking forward to seeing everyone after a long winter and excited to see all the new builds in the tuner section,” said Motorama’s Brandon Hamid, who helps organize Spring Fever.
“I’m also excited to see the different type of builds. Showgoers can expect to see a wide variety, from show cars and drift cars to track builds and stance cars, there’s something for everyone.”
Jasmin Hamid also organizes Spring Fever for Motorama; she’s looking forward to the 2025 edition for many reasons.
“It’s the first show of the year for many of us and it’s always a great time to catch up with enthusiasts who I haven’t seen since the prior year,” said Jasmin. “This year we’ve made big strides towards welcoming many new cars to the show in Spring Fever, ones that have either never been shown here or ones that are making a comeback, after years of not being at Motorama, to debut their new looks.”
Jasmin added that she wants to hear feedback from those attending, noting that they’ll continue to make improvements for future editions of Spring Fever.
Brandon enjoys seeing the custom paint jobs, carbon fibre, air-ride suspension and three-piece wheels in this category. He says that even some returning rides offer something new to see, with changes such as new wraps or interior since the last time they were displayed.
“I think showgoers should have their eye on the whole section because each car is unique in its own way,” said Brandon. “The cars are completely customized and it’s more of a lifestyle that includes the whole family… it’s the first big show of the year, so it gets everyone out of hibernation, it’s a great big gathering and it’s a good time.”
While there’s a vibrant community in the tuner, import and modern modified car hobby, that doesn’t mean that there won’t be competition amongst the rides. There will be a category of awards for Spring Fever entries presented during the Hagerty Special Awards on Sunday, March 9 on the Meguiar’s Main Stage. Awards focus on various elements of a vehicle, including outstanding wrap, engine bay and paint.
